Dental implants are an excellent way to replace missing teeth. Whether you have lost one, several or even all of your natural teeth, dental implants are often the perfect way to restore your smile and your ability to eat a full, healthy diet. At The Sutton Implant Clinic, our implant work is carried out by Dr Puneet Jain and Mr Graham James, two leading and highly regarded implantologists.
If you are interested in treatment with dental implants, your first step should be to come in for an implant consultation. You will meet with one of our implant dentists, who will explain the pros and cons of implant treatment to you and will be able to answer any questions you may have, so that you can make an informed choice about your treatment.
Your dentist will also carefully examine any remaining teeth, your gums and surrounding structures to assess your suitability for implants. We will use x-rays and our in-house CT scanner to aid with diagnosis and to help with treatment planning. The position of your implants will be carefully planned to avoid any nerves and other vital structures, and to provide maximum support for your new teeth to withstand the forces generated by biting and chewing.
At your initial consultation, your dentist will explain all the treatment options available to you, and will advise you of how many implants you will need. If you have one missing tooth the most common solution is to place a single dental implant and attach a crown. For multiple or all missing teeth, the good news is you are unlikely to need as many implants as teeth. Several and all missing teeth may be replaced by implant-retained bridges or dentures, depending on your individual needs and preferences.
Your dentist will also discuss projected treatment times and costs. We offer a number of payment plans to help you spread the cost of treatment.
If you have lost all or most of your natural teeth and have been wearing traditional dentures for several years, you may have experienced bone loss and may need an additional procedure called a bone graft or sinus lift to rebuild your jaw bone prior to implant placement. Mr Graham James is highly experienced in these procedures as well as in complex implant cases, and can carry out these additional procedures here at our practice.
One of the biggest benefits of coming to The Sutton Implant Clinic is that all your implant treatment can be provided here at the Clinic without the need for you to go anywhere for any part of your treatment.
